About Guardian

Our story, our mission, and our promise to you.

Our Mission

To empower survivors of domestic abuse with a single, secure, and comprehensive digital tool for safety, evidence management, and wellness. Our goal is to reduce trauma, streamline the path to safety, and foster a supportive community for healing.

Our Vision

We envision a world where the support ecosystem for survivors is not fragmented or re-traumatizing. Guardian Angel was created to be the all-in-one, privacy-first mobile application that consolidates critical services into one user-centric platform. It acts as a secure toolkit for a survivor's entire journey, from crisis to recovery, putting control back where it belongs: in your hands.

Our Global Vision

Domestic abuse is a global crisis, and our mission extends beyond borders. We are building Guardian Angel to be a universally accessible tool, offering a standard of safety and support for survivors everywhere. We aim to partner with international organizations to adapt and deploy Guardian worldwide, creating a global network of safety.

Our Commitment to Privacy

Your safety and privacy are the foundation of this app. We operate on a "zero-knowledge" principle. All sensitive data you enter—from journal entries to evidence logs and personal documents—is encrypted and stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to it. We will never monetize your data. You are the only one who holds the key.

This app began as just an idea, a dream in the mind of our founder. It stands today as a testament to her vision and resilience. A special thank you to all the friends, family, and supporters who provided encouragement and strength along this journey. Your belief in this project has been a constant source of inspiration. This prototype was built in collaboration with a Google AI assistant, who helped bring the technical vision to life.

Founder & Survivor Advocate

Becky Chadburn

Becky's advocacy and vision are the heart of this project. The app was born from her own experiences and a passionate drive to ensure no survivor has to navigate the path to safety alone and unsupported.

My Story, by Becky Chadburn

"For years, I navigated the confusing and often re-traumatizing maze of support services. I had to tell my story over and over again, to police, to doctors, to solicitors, to support workers. Each time, it felt like reopening a wound. I remember desperately trying to keep track of evidence – dates, times, photos, messages – terrified that my abuser would find it or that I would lose a critical piece of information."

"I dreamed of a single, secure place where I could keep everything safe. A tool that would empower me, not make me feel like a victim. A companion that could help me prepare a statement without having to speak it out loud a hundred times. A discreet lifeline that understood my need for privacy and safety above all else."

"Guardian is that dream made real. It's the tool I wish I'd had. My mission is to put this power into the hands of every person who needs it, to provide a silent, steadfast guardian that helps them move from crisis to healing and hope. This isn't just an app; it's a statement that we believe survivors, we support them, and we will build the tools they need to reclaim their lives."

"Through my own journey, I wrote a book, performed my poetry on stage, navigated the court system, and secured a restraining order. In all those moments, I wished I had an app like this. Now, we've built it for you."

The Guardian prototype is currently being developed by a dedicated team inspired by Becky's mission. We are actively seeking partnerships and funding to bring this vital tool to production and place it in the hands of survivors who need it most.
